ACC annual meeting has strong Canadian presence

Canada’s presence is widely seen and heard at this year’s ACC Annual Meeting in Los Angeles. Its new board Chairman is David Allgood, executive vice president and general counsel for the Royal Bank of Canada.

Several Canadian firms are represented at the Exhibit Hall, including newcomer Davies LLP. The roster at the  Employment Law Alliance Exhibit Hall booth includes Erin Kuzz of Sherrard Kuzz LLP.

The ACC’s Ontario Chapter presented a session on “Canada’s Anti-Spam Law”; its panel comprised Sanjeev Dhawan, Hydro One Networks Inc., Blakes LLP Associate Dara Lambie, and RBC Senior Counsel Paul Rand. Many questions remain surrounding CASL. Still not in force, Canadian lawyers are left without test cases to interpret.
