Law Firm Challenge for Daily Bread Food Bank enters its final week

Blakes’ CFO Richard Prupas participates in a “Celebrity Pie Dual” to raise money for the Daily Bread Food Bank

A pie to the face for a good cause. Richard Prupas, Blakes’ chief financial officer (pictured left with a face-full of pie), was the lucky recipient of a delicious gift from Pamela Huff of the firm’s restructuring and insolvency group.

Huff earned the right to pie Prupas after raising one dollar more than him in pledges for Daily Bread Food Bank. Blakes raised $30,000 in total from its “Celebrity Pie Duel” event.

The Law Firm Challenge to raise money for Daily Bread is a friendly competition between Toronto law firms.

There are 41 firms participating this year.

This is the 10th year Blakes has been organizing the competition, which ends December 14.

Since its inception, the Law Firm Challenge has raised more than $1.5 million for Daily Bread.

Last year, McLeish Orlando LLP was the top fundraising firm, raising a total of $37,041.

Can McLeish Orlando successfully defend its title? Only time will tell.
