An end to blogging and emailing from court for Chinese lawyers?

Proposals before China’s supreme people’s court would prevent Chinese lawyers from microblogging and emailing about hearings without permission. Chinese lawyers have expressed concern that if effected, these measures would allow judges to disbar them for up to a year for “disrupting the order” of hearings. Critics say these proposals are the latest in a series of attempts to rein in advocates and, if implemented, would further limit their ability to effectively represent clients.
