Ron Rolls, former prominent civil litigator, dies

Ron Rolls, a former prominent Fasken Martineau civil litigator died last week after a lengthy illness that followed a stroke.

As described in a firm memo, Rolls was:

…in his day, one of this country’s most prominent counsel, with a reputation for being a feared and fearless advocate.  He was the recipient of the Law Society Medal in 1988 and for many years headed the Bar Admission course in Civil Procedure. He was instrumental in the training of brash young lawyers such as Allan Rock, John Campion, Bob Harrison, Paul Monahan, Peter Downard and Gerry Ranking as well as Justices John Laskin, Eleanor Cronk, Gloria Epstein and David Stinson.
