Blakes donates to Montréal hospital projects

This week, lawyers and other senior members of Blake, Cassels & Graydon’s Montréal office contributed $383,000 to the  revitalization of the city’s teaching hospitals. As reported by Legal Feeds blog, the donation was made in support of The Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and the McGill University Health Centre Foundation (MUHC).

Lexpert published a description of the Glen campus project, one of  largest P3 hospital projects in Canada, in October 2010. Construction is well underway and doors are reportedly opening in 2014. The $2.25 billion redevelopment also includes the Lachine and Mountain campuses of MUHC.

Blakes advised the consortium in the CHUM project, which reached financial close in June 2011 and is valued at some $2.5 billion. The CHUM project is the largest P3 bond financing in Canadian history. The Blakes team was led by Alain Massicotte.

Norton Rose Canada donated $500,000 contribution to the campaign in February.
