One-Third of Lawyers to Boost eDiscovery Spending

Robert Half Legal has released some fresh statistics on the growth of e-discovery services and the intention of lawyers to increase spending in this area.

The staffing firm approached 350 lawyers in the U.S. and Canada and asked them about their experiences and intentions with regards to e-discover.

Twenty-three percent (23%) of lawyers said their firms or corporate legal departments increased e-discovery spending last year, while just 2% reduced spending. Seventy-one percent (71%) indicated costs remained the same.

Looking ahead, 33% said they expected to increase spending on e-discovery over the next two years, while 56% plan to maintain current levels and 4% anticipate a decrease.
